Day 1. Marrakech – Imlil – Base camp of Toubkal

Drive from Marrakech to Imlil and trek to Toubkal Refuge by means of Aremd and the Mizane ValleyLeaving the city behind we drive south today, towards the rugged pinnacles and plunging valleys of the Toubkal Massif. Intersection the Haouz Plain we go through the small town of Asni, from where our street starts to move towards the lower regions of the Massif. Underneath us the valley of the Oued Rhirhaia loosens up into the separation and little towns stick to the sides of the lofty slopes as we wander our way towards the town of Imlil. Here we leave our vehicle and, in the organization of our mountain manage, start our trek, heading along the Mizane Valley, first towards the town of Aremd and afterward onto the holy place of Sidi Chamarouch. Based on a moraine prod neglecting the valley floor, Aremd is the biggest town in the valley and gives a fascinating blend of conventional terraced cultivating, gites and boulevards that appear to be for all time gridlocked by goats and dairy cattle. For ages the nearby Berber townspeople have worked these grounds, delivering corn, potatoes and pecans from the unforgiving scene. Proceeding with east and intersection the flood plain our course takes us along donkey tracks and up into the high rough bluffs over the valley. Intersection the stream we in the long run go to the peaceful hallowed place of Sidi Chamarouch, which draws in travelers and explorers the same (albeit just Muslims are permitted to cross the stone extension to visit the marabout sanctum itself). The town sits other than a little cascade, a muddled group of houses that appear to dissolve together into an anarchic mass. From here the path keeps on climbing consistently, winding and crisscrossing its way up to the snowline and the Toukbal Refuge (3206m), our set up camp. Approx 5/6hrs strolling.

Day 2.Base camp – Toubkal Summit – Imlil

Trek to culmination of Jebel Toubkal(4165m); come back to Imlil Early at the beginning of today we make our endeavor on the highest point of Jebel Toukbal, the most noteworthy top in Northern Africa. Our course takes us up the south cirque, crossing the stream over the asylum and afterward heading across one of the mountains various scree fields, where we should debatable an apparently perpetual floor covering of stones and shakes. The strolling is generally direct, yet the scree and the height will make the going very troublesome in parts, in any case, the perspectives en route make the excursion more than beneficial. Peaking the ridgeline we wind up on the level, from where it is a short stroll to the highest point and the vistas out over the encompassing scene are very stunning. From here there are unhindered perspectives toward each path, from the Marrakesh Plain to the High Atlas in the north and as far south as the Anti-Atlas and the Sahara. Pliny, the incomparable Roman researcher, when depicted the High Atlas Mountains as “the most spectacular mountains in the entirety of Africa” and from our vantage point high over the valley it is straightforward why.
